SWISS UMEF University, with a delegation of six people, composed of several members of the Faculty and the Direction, as well as a member of the Swiss Parliament, went to Niamey to meet with his Excellency the President of the Republic of Niger Mahamadou Issoufou, the Minister of Education, the Minister of the Domain, the Minister of Industry, Vice-President of the Parliament Assembly and the President of the Niger Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to expose them to a project to build a campus in Niamey. These meetings took place from January 23 to 26 and were enhanced by the visit of Abdou Moumouni University. The main purpose of this project is to enable people who wish to study in their country, as well as at the level of the region. The project was well received by the Niger government, which confirmed their collaboration, as well as promised to grant us land, and a tax exemption, as well as facilitate all authorizations. Swiss UMEF University has promised to send a team soon to advance in the administrative procedures, as well as open its branch for September 2017, to rent a building, before building, in the future, its own campus.
