Executive Master in Leadership

Description:

The Executive Master in Leadership gives the student the tools indispensable to the transformation of their character and behaviour such that she/he can become an actor in the transformation of his/her socio-professional milieu. The training is based on the principles of leadership, which is primarily concerned with meeting the objectives of the organization and the full development of the people being led.


Objective:

At the end of the training programme, the students will have mastered the tools of management sciences (finance, production, marketing, human resources, information systems, etc.). They will be able to communicate, animate and motivate a team, and design and head projects so as to meet the objectives while motivating their team.


Learning outcomes:

  1. Graduates will master critical thinking, problem-solving, effective communication, emotional intelligence, strategic planning and thinking, quantitative skills, innovation, and critical analysis.

  2. Participants will learn to develop interaction processes for total quality management, enhancing decision-making and work environment for managers and teams.

  3. Participants will gain the ability to make informed economic and managerial decisions considering global economic situations and external factors beyond managerial control.

  4. Participants will understand the impact of various leadership styles and approaches within an organization.


Programme Structure:

Duration and Credits:

Our Executive Master programme is designed for a duration of one year, encompassing 60 ECTS credits. This structure facilitates a comprehensive immersion in the various facets of business management, while remaining adaptable to the professional commitments of our participants.


Modules and Credits:

The programme comprises 10 modules, each worth 6 ECTS credits. This balanced allocation ensures a thorough exploration of key areas in management.


Module Details:

  • Each module, spanning 4 weeks, includes:

  • Extensive readings and research, to be undertaken at your own pace.

  • Practical case study analysis to apply theoretical concepts directly.

  • Two interactive monthly sessions of three hours each, scheduled on Saturdays from 17:00 to 20:00, promoting dynamic exchanges and direct feedback.

  • Personalised guidance from an academic adviser dedicated to supporting your learning journey.


Session Scheduling:

The sessions are organised to optimise learning while accommodating the professional commitments of participants. A detailed schedule is available upon registration.


Examinations:

Each module includes an examination, in various forms (written, oral, research work, multiple-choice questions, etc.), as chosen by the instructor. Exams can be conducted remotely or in-person at one of the Swiss UMEF partner locations, depending on the students’ residence. Details of in-person examinations will be communicated via email or through the eAcademy platform.


Admissions:

  • A rigorous selection of applications is implemented.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience

  • English proficiency for non-native speakers, unless previous education was conducted in English (TOEFL IBT 90, IELTS 6.5 or equivalent)

  3. Copy of transcripts;

  4. Copy of identity card or passport;
