President
Former Prime Minister of Romania
H.E Roman is a distinguished politician and a respected leader, having served as the former Prime Minister of Romania. In addition to his remarkable political career, he holds a strong academic background.
Roman is a graduate in environmental engineering from the University Politehnica of Bucharest, with a DEA in Hydrodynamics from ENSEEIHT in Toulouse and a Ph.D. in fluid dynamics from the University "Paul Sabatier" in Toulouse.
As President of SWISS UMEF, Roman brings extensive political experience and academic expertise. His dedication to his country and enlightened leadership have made him a key figure in the history of Romania.
Djawed SANGDEL
Managing Director
Dr Djawed SANGDEL is an accomplished professional renowned for his expertise in leadership and entrepreneurship. As the Managing Director of SWISS UMEF, he plays a pivotal role in the management and development of the institution.
Under his leadership, SWISS UMEF has achieved several accreditations, including the Swiss Federal Accreditation, making it the first and only private institution accredited as a University of Applied Sciences in the canton of Geneva.
Sangdel is also a member of the Geneva Cantonal Parliament, where he contributes as an active member of the education, higher education, and housing committees. His political involvement underscores his interest in matters related to education and societal development.
Sylvaine MERCURI CHAPUIS
Academic & Research Director
Dr. Mercuri Chapuis is a Professor in Management Sciences, leading research groups in Anticipation Practices and Corporate Social Responsibility. With international academic experiences, she coordinates applied research projects in Switzerland and abroad. Her focus is on developing anticipation consciousness for managers and employees in diverse contexts and cultures, fostering collective intelligence for a better future.

Professor and lecturer in International Business, Communications and International Relations (PhD, MSc, BA). Senior specialist of academic matters, with experience in compliance and accreditations (SAC, IACBE, eduQua, ISO). Certified auditor for educational norms. Member of the University of Strasbourg Chair of UNESCO, “Pratiques journalistiques et médiatiques. Entre mondialisation et diversité culturelle” and LISEC Tec&Co, University of Strasbourg. Strategic Advisor, Forge numérique du Pôle d'innovation numérique of the Geneva University Center for Computer Sciences (CUI).

Head of student affairs
Experienced International Relations specialist with solid communication, writing, and analytical skills and a natural talent for presenting and teaching complex issues in a clear, simple and interesting way. He teaches International Relations and Political Science.

Dr. Antoine Tong HAN
Director of International Cooperation
Has over 10 years of academic experience at universities in France and China. His main research areas include economics, international trade, and higher education management. As the Director of International Cooperation (Asia) at SWISS UMEF, his mission is to develop strategic partnerships in the Asian market and promote the institution’s visibility. His expertise and dedication contribute to strengthening SWISS UMEF’s reputation in Asia while expanding its academic and institutional network.
