An inspiring and insightful workshop took place at the prestigious Château d’Aïre, where participants gathered to explore one of today’s most pressing challenges: how to successfully find a job in a competitive and evolving market.
Led by two distinguished speakers – Prof. Dr Djawed SANGDEL, Professor of Leadership and Entrepreneurship, CEO of SWISS UMEF and Member of the Grand Council of Geneva, and Mr Dominique FALQUE, international finance expert and President of ESSEC Alumni Switzerland – the event offered concrete strategies and a powerful message of empowerment.
A space for dialogue and practical advice
More than just a lecture, this free event became a dynamic space for exchange, learning, and reflection. Attendees – including students, young professionals, alumni, and career changers – shared ideas, asked questions, and walked away with:
Practical tools for navigating the job market,
Techniques to enhance personal branding and visibility,
And insider strategies for building a strong professional network.
When you can’t find a job – create one
One of the most memorable takeaways came from Prof. Dr Djawed SANGDEL, who encouraged participants to shift their mindset:
“If you can’t find a job, perhaps you were born to create one. The world needs people who build opportunities – for themselves and for others.”
This message resonated deeply, inspiring many to consider entrepreneurship not as a fallback, but as a path of leadership, creativity, and responsibility.
What’s next?
In light of the workshop’s success, SWISS UMEF is preparing a series of follow-up sessions focused on employability, personal development, and leadership. These events will form part of a wider initiative to support:
Career readiness,
Entrepreneurial thinking,
And the creation of sustainable impact in the world of work.
